GHIN

GHIN stands for “Golf Handicap and Information Network.” A handicap provides every golfer - regardless of age, gender, or skill level - with a universal measure of playing ability under the World Handicap System. The Handicapping Reference Guide is a great resource. Learn more on the USGA website.

When you set up a GHIN account, you get your own GHIN number. As you enter your golf scores into the GHIN system, it calculates your handicap automatically and is updated by the next day.

If you don't yet have a GHIN number, you will be assigned one when you join the RWGA league. Part of your league fee pays for your one-year membership in the North Dakota GHIN network.

Besides using your GHIN app for posting your scores, it now includes a GPS distance reader and course map.

Combination Tees

Based on findings by the USGA, the organization has added flexibility in tee distances with "combination tees," which you'll now see on golf course score cards. The goals of using combination tees are to enable more golfers to achieve better scores, have more fun, and speed up play. You are encouraged to play the tees that best fit your skill level.

For more information about using combination tees, contact us or visit with a clubhouse employee. Learn more from USGA:

Rules of Golf

You can find the latest golf rules in the USGA Rules of Golf app. If you have a question on or off the course, you can ask another member or clubhouse staff. Riverwood may have other rules based on the conditions or event participation.
